Our Environment Minister in BC may be close to signing the environmental certification for the Gateway mega -project.

If Barry Penner signs the certification for this project his legacy would be that of the Environment Minister that gave the green light to the most counter productive and in fact destructive transportation mega-project of our generation!

On Minster Penner’s website he claims “The BC Government is working to aggressively address global warming and climate change” he even goes on to clearly state “there is still more work to be done if we are to meet our legally-mandated goal of reducing BC’s greenhouse gas emissions by 33% by 2020“. How he could say this one day and then rubber stamp what many are calling “the gateway to global warming” is unconscionable.

I remember someone saying that the global warming campaign was a political scare tactic used by United Nations to convince Americans of the dire necessity for Kyoto lest greedy capitalists destroy the planet. The may be some truth to that wise man’s prediction.

New scientific data shows the earth is now cooling. Some scientists are predicting a new ice age. Poor activist Al Gore. He sincerely has been working for the socialist good of humankind. Just when nature was cooperating, God and nature spoils all the fun and hard work. As other skeptical, if not, oppositional scientists have said, what global warming represented was a periodic cycle and in time the trend would reverse to a new cycle of cooling.

Climate change alarmists have never been apt to shy away from courting controversy with their dire forecasts of coming environmental apocalypse, but their latest “solution” takes the biscuit - they want to pollute the air with sulphur and cut down pristine beautiful old growth forests to stop global warming!

No you didn’t read that wrong - scientists really are proposing to obliterate majestic canopies of forest that are hundreds of years old while pumping the upper atmosphere full of an acid-rain causing pollutant, changing the very color of our serene blue skies, all in the name of saving the environment.

“Australian scientist Tim Flannery has proposed a radical solution to climate change which may change the colour of the sky,” reports The Age.

The names of over 31,000 American scientists that reject the theory of anthropogenic global warming are to be revealed on Monday.

Although this will occur at the National Press Club in Washington, DC., it seems a metaphysical certitude media will completely ignore the event.

Isn’t it ironic, dontcha think?

The past few months have not been good to the still-infant discipline of climate change alarmism — that strange amalgam of pseudo-science, crystal ball gazing, and mass hysteria that was formerly known as global warming alarmism until it became apparent a few years back that the globe had in fact stopped warming, and the alarmists decided that the term “climate change” was a more effective way of describing what the rest of us call “weather.”

For around a decade now — since around the time, coincidentally, that the warming stopped — the alarmists have had things pretty much their own way, dominating the debate with ever more dramatic predictions of impending doom as man-made CO2 emissions heat up the planet, and managing for the best part to keep a lid on dissent, thanks to an unlikely, and decidedly unholy, alliance of organizations and individuals with a vested interest in upping the fear factor.

In a recent story on global warming, ABC claimed that tornado frequency this year is running nearly twice that of last year and that this can be linked to global warming.? ?(HT Maggies Farm) Now, I would have tended to argue that year-over-year variations are probably not related to multi-decadal climate trends, but if ABC wants to so argue, I will go with it.

The only problem is that the first five months of 2008 have been the coolest since 1993 and has run well below the average temperature for the period from 1978-1990.? ?This while 2007 was one of the warmer Jan-May periods in recent memory.? In fact, average US temperatures were about a degree Celsius cooler in 2008 than in 2007:

If there were a Society of Global Warming Alarmists, Bill McKibben might get kicked out for being too much of a worry wart . . .

You’ve probably seen those phone-message forms with check boxes in ascending order of urgency from “FYI—no need to return call” all the way up to “the future of civilization hangs in the balance.” We might see that last category as light-hearted exaggeration, but it’s no laughing matter to McKibben. In his jeremiad in today’s LA Times literally entitled “Civilization’s last chance,” McKibben solemnly declares that “the world looks a little terminal right now” and “it isn’t morning in America, it’s dusk on planet Earth.” OK. Just so long as it’s nothing serious.

More crapola coming from Al Gore. I CANNOT believe that people are still falling for this crap! Note the last paragraph of this article. I have predicted that same thing for a while now.? Al Gore is raking in the bucks on this hoax and idiots are willing to let him do it. Do facts matter to these people??
